Performance Ropes

UHMWPE & Aramid for Extreme Strength and Safety

What are Performance Ropes?

Performance ropes are ropes made of high-tech fibers such as UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) en Aramid (Twaron®, Technora® and Kevlar®)These materials offer extreme strength, low stretch,, high wear resistance en resistance to extreme conditionsThey are used in industry, offshore, maritime sector, lifting technology and rescue operations.

Q1 UHMWPE

(Dyneema®, Spectra®)

Properties

  • Extremely high tensile strength – up to 15x stronger than steel at the same weight
  • Lightweight & floating – specific gravity ± 0,97
  • Very low stretch – ideal for lifting and hoisting work
  • Wear-resistant & UV-resistant
  • Chemically resistant & water-repellent
  • Melting point: ± 144–152 °C

Benefits

  • Replaces steel cables: safer, lighter, no rust
  • Less maintenance, longer lifespan
  • Easy to handle and split

Applications

  • Offshore & maritime: towing and mooring lines
  • Industry: lifting and hoisting applications
  • 4x4 & winch ropes
  • Rescue operations and mountaineering

Q1 Plus

Q1 PLUS features a specially developed industrial coating that improves the rope's external abrasion resistance. This coating provides lubrication between the fibers and also improves UV resistance. Because of its abrasion-resistant coating, Q1 PLUS rope is widely used in applications requiring both abrasion resistance and high tensile strength.

Aramid Rope (Kevlar®)

Properties

  • Very high tensile strength – 5–8× stronger than steel at the same weight
  • Heat resistant – up to 500–600 °C
  • Low stretch – ± 2% at 20% load
  • Excellent cut and wear resistance
  • Chemical resistance
  • Specific gravity: ± 1,38 (sinks)

Benefits

  • Resistant to extreme heat and fire
  • Ideal for high temperature and cutting risk applications
  • Long life in harsh conditions

Applications

  • Lifting cables and drive lines
  • Fire and rescue equipment
  • Maritime and military applications
  • Industrial lifting and fastening applications

Dycore-X

Dycore-X from Langman Touw is a high-quality polyester braided line with a pre-stretched UHMWPE core. This innovative construction ensures minimal stretch, making Dycore-X ideal for halyards on sailboats where precision and reliability are crucial.

Blizzard

Blizzard lines van Langman Rope are high quality fall lines specially developed for sailing boats. Thanks to a strong UHMWPE core combined with a polyester coat these lines offer excellent strength, durability and grip, even under severe nautical conditions. The core is PU coated, which guarantees extra protection and wear resistance.

Racing line

LangmanTouw Racing Line is a braided rope. The cover is 32-strand braided polyester, and the core is 12-strand braided UHMWPE Dyneema® yarn. The 32-strand polyester cover is tandemly braided, providing high abrasion resistance and improved grip. The UHMWPE/Dyneema® yarn core increases the breaking strength and reduces the rope's stretch.

Qr3

Langman Rope QR3 is a braided line. The sheath is 24-strand braided polyester, the intermediate sheath is braided spun polyester, and the core is 12-strand braided UHMWPE Dyneema® yarn. The polyester-spun intermediate sheath makes this line beautifully round and strong, making it ideal for winches. The QR3 line is frequently used as sheet rope in water sports and primarily on cruising sailboats. The UHMWPE/Dyneema® yarn core makes this line extremely strong and lightweight, and the polyester sheath provides excellent abrasion and UV resistance.

Tuning

Round braided polyester cord with parallel core of UHMWPE/Dyneema® yarns

Low-stretch polyester cord, round braided. Widely used in industry and awnings as a lifting/suspension and pulling cord.
